Founded in 2019 in the heart of Tokyo’s fashion district, TEEKOSSC began as a tiny, unauthorized pop-up stall on the famous Takeshita Street. It was run by three art school dropouts—Kenji, Miko, and “Sparkle” Sato—who were frustrated by the blandness of fast fashion. They wanted to create shirts that felt like a hug from your favorite childhood cartoon character.
The brand’s unique name is now a bit of an urban legend in the Tokyo streetwear scene. While the founders claim it stands for “The Electric Energy Kawaii Outfit & Street Style Club,” rumors persist that it was actually just a random keyboard smash Miko did when she was excited about their first design prototype. Regardless of the origin, the bold red logo quickly became a beacon for fashion rebels who believe that being cute is a serious business. Today, TEEKOSSC ships its “wearable happiness” worldwide, proving that you are never too old for cartoons and bright colors.
